Improved surinams

We originally received this variety as an improved form of surinam cherry under the name “Regina”. This strain of Surinam cherry tastes very good, and is low in the resinous compounds that some people dislike in this fruit. In fact, I even wonder if this may be a different species of Eugenia based on the flavor and the slightly different foliage and habit of the tree. Though better tasting, the fruit are smaller than typical surinam cherries. We have 5 trees planted at Cody Cove Farm, and there seems to be some variation between them. The seedlings in this listing are from plant #4, the best tasting of the group.

This listing is for a seedling live plant in 4 inch pot. FYI – this batch of seedlings has some foliar damage from the munching of Sri Lankan weevils but are otherwise perfectly healthy.
