Oliver’s Yellow Cattley Guava

$15.00

This is a great cattley guava variety from our friend Oliver in Gainesville. The fruit is very much superior to typical red cattley guava. These trees are ultra productive in a relatively short time from seed. In fact, it can be so productive that fruit may need thinned so it doesn’t pull the tree over and stunt it from overproduction. This variety has been productive in Gainesville for years and can readily tolerate cold down to 20F once established. Our trees in Polk County have been hyper productive and can fruit multiple times a year. Trees are tough as nails, being quite drought tolerant. Unfortunately, a fruit fly magnet in locations where this pest is a problem. The winter crop does not seem to get infected with the flies. Cold pockets that experience hard freezes seem to typically be more free of this pest.
